ADVICE FOR ENSURING THE SAFETY AND PROPER USE OF COMMUNAL AREAS

You must help to clean the staircase and all the communal areas in your building.

If you have pets, pick up their droppings when walking them in the street and prevent them from disturbing other residents.

Return objects to the places in which they are supposed to be kept, to make sure nobody stumbles over them and falls.

Avoid making loud noises, especially when your neighbours are sleeping.

Do not vandalise or spoil communal areas, stairways, lifts, etc.

Make sure that your children's activities are not dangerous for them and do not disturb other residents. When in the street, make sure your children are safe at all times.

Follow recommendations on weight limits and the maximum number of people when using lifts.

The main doors to buildings must be kept locked. It is not a good idea to open them to strangers.

There are limits to the weight that apartment ceilings can withstand. Try to avoid overloading them or accumulated strain.

Do not perform construction work without consulting an expert, as you might otherwise damage the structure of your building.

Water plants on balconies in the evening, when there are few pedestrians around. Ideally, a dish should be placed under each plant pot.

Seal bags of rubbish properly and leave them in the containers provided for them. If you live in a narrow street where there are no containers, do not take rubbish outside before 8 p.m.

Never throw objects or lit cigarette ends from balconies or windows, as they could hurt someone.

Do not shake towels or beat carpets in the street; use your building's rooftop terrace instead.

Make use of the litter bins provided in every street. Walking through the streets is much more pleasant if they are clean.

Do not spit in the street.

Look after green areas and street furniture. Everyone contributes to paying for them!

Only leave vehicles in areas where parking is permitted, to make it easier for people to walk along pavements.

Only use your vehicle's horn when it is strictly necessary, as the noise causes a great deal of disturbance.

Do not disturb your neighbours' sleep and avoid shouting in the street at night.
