PROGRAMME FOR THE VOLUNTARY RETURN OF IMMIGRANTS FROM CATALONIA

PROGRAMA DE RETORN VOLUNTARI D'IMMIGRANTS DES DE CATALUNYA O PREVICAT

The programme for the voluntary return of immigrants from Catalonia (Programa de Retorn Voluntari d'Immigrants des de Catalunya, PreviCat) is aimed at foreign immigrants living in Catalonia who, due to finding themselves financially and socially insecure, want to return to their country of origin.

The programme is jointly managed by the Catalan government, through its General Directorate for Immigration (Direcció General per a la Immigració), and the International Organisation for Migration or IOM (Organització Internacional per a les Migracions, OIM). The procedures involved are carried out through the social services of town and city councils and social organisations.

Foreigners who take up the programme's offer are provided with an aeroplane ticket to fly to an airport close to their final destination.
