Good morning. I've been told that you have job offers here for work in Spain.
Good morning. Yes, here at the consulate we receive Spanish companies' requests for workers.
So what do I need to do?
Firstly, you need to register with the consulate. You'll then have to apply for a work permit for employment by somebody else, despite the fact that you haven't been offered a job.
How will I know if a company's going to employ me?
We carry out the selection process. If you're chosen, we'll let you know.
What's a quota (quota)?
It's the annual number of foreign workers contracted outside Spain on the basis of offers made by Spanish companies.
How long does the work last?
That depends on the job for which workers are requested. Sometimes offers are for seasonal agricultural work. Sometimes the jobs involved are more stable.
Will I receive a work permit if I'm given a job?
You'll receive a work and residency permit for as long as your job lasts.
Will I be able to extend my permit?
No, you have to promise to return to your country of origin once your period of employment ends. Once you're back in your country of origin, you'll have to come here to the consulate within a month of your permit ending to prove that you've returned. If you do that, you'll be given priority for obtaining the same type of permit again in the future.
