L'interessat:
Hola.
L'OMIC:
Hola. Segui, si us plau. Expliqui'm què li passa.
L'interessat:
He entregat uns diners com a arres.

L'interessat:
Doncs, no. Tot semblava legal.
L'interessat:
I ara, què puc fer?
L'OMIC:
Ho sento.
L'interessat:
Bé, què hi farem. La propera vegada no em tornarà a passar. Adéu.
L'OMIC:
Adéu.

Citizen:

Hello. I've got a problem with an apartment and I'd like your advice, please.

OMIC:

Hello. Take a seat, please. What's the problem?

Citizen:

I made a down payment. I've been trying to contact the seller for days, but the telephone number he gave me doesn't exist. He seems to have vanished!

OMIC:

It sounds like you've been swindled. There are people who rent an apartment and then put it on sale, as if it belonged to them, at a very tempting price. Once they receive a deposit, they disappear.
Did you check the documentation that this person gave you?

Citizen:

Well, no. Everything seemed to be in order. What's more, he put a lot of pressure on me. He said that someone else was interested in the apartment and that we had to finalise the deal immediately.

OMIC:

The documents he gave you are sure to be false. It's very important to always check documentation by going to the land registry and asking for a copy of the property deed. That's where you'll find the name of the real owner.

Citizen:

What can I do now?

OMIC:

I'm afraid the only thing you can do is report the matter to the police. I don't think you'll get your money back. I'm sorry.

Citizen:

Oh well, that's that, then. I won't make that mistake again. Goodbye.

OMIC:

Goodbye.
