Also known as higher education. In June 1999 the Ministers of Higher Education of 29 European countries signed the Bologna Declaration, which lays the foundation for the construction of the European Higher Education Area -EHEA- (Espai Europeu d’Educació Superior, EEES) with the horizon implementation overall in 2010.

Previous studies in the IESS
Structured in cycles, taking as a measure of workload credit. One credit equals10 hours. On three levels:

First cycle. It lasts three years and obtained the Diploma, Master, Technical Architect or Engineer.

Second Cycle. It lasts two years and obtained the titles of Licensed, Architect or Engineer. Successful completion of second cycle entitles access to postgraduate studies (PhD).

Third cycle. These doctoral programs and obtained a PhD.

Official titles and authorized. Are official and valid throughout the territory of Spain.

Own qualifications. They are unregulated studies leading to a degree not officially recognized by the only university that teaches. They have the same structure that regulated studies, so there are qualifications for 1st and 2nd grade and 3rd cycle.

 

Studies adapted to the IEEE
They are adapted to the European context. Has harmonized the duration of studies, learning methods and evaluation of academic activities.

Studies degree. They have a length of 240 credits. Provide general training for preparation for activities of a professional.

Studies program. They last between 60 and 120 credits. This is advanced training focused academic or professional specialization, or to promote the initiation of research tasks.

Doctoral studies. Consist of a period of training and research period comprising the doctoral program.

Studies course taught officers from the 2006-2007 academic year and the level began to run from the 2008-2009 academic year. As for the studies under the old plan, the academic year 2010-2011 was no longer possible to offer places to new entrants to the first year of undergraduate degree, diploma holder, architect, engineer, technical architect, technical engineer, but remain in force until 30 September 2015 for students who have already begun.
